    Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

    Location: Eureka, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
    Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
    Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
    Total Staffed Beds: 150
    Charting System: Epic
    Parking: Free parking on first day; assigned parking after orientation


    Job Details

    • Pending License: Not accepted
    • Floating: Required to float between like units
    • Block Schedule: May be accommodated at manager’s discretion
    • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

    Required Certifications

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - Therapeutic

    Required Licenses

    • Current Radiation Therapist license valid in California
    • CPDH Certificate required for all Radiation Therapists working in California

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Radiation Therapist license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
    • BLS certification
    • ARRT Therapeutic certification

    Compliance and Documentation Requirements

    • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Education Verification (degree related to specialty)
    • Employment Application covering at least last 5 years
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years
    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Drug Screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Immunizations and Health Documents:
      • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, updated annually
    • Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent), updated annually

    Training and Competency Requirements

    • Completion of facility-specific and regional mandatory training modules annually via LMS platform
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Skills checklist updated annually
    • Radiation Badge issued by facility (facility responsibility)
    • Epic training modules completion as required by facility
    • Competency exams and certifications as applicable to specialty and unit

    Additional Notes

    • Float Policy Acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
    • Must comply with state-specific background and registry checks as applicable
    • Must complete all required WorkRamp training modules prior to start
    • Physical exam and health documents must be current and compliant with facility policies
    • Facility uses Epic for charting; familiarity preferred

    This position offers an opportunity to work in a well-staffed acute care hospital with a supportive environment and structured orientation. First-time travel therapists are welcome, and locals may apply. Flexibility to float between units and accommodate block scheduling is expected.
