Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Job Description

• Work primarily on a 42-bed Medical Respiratory Unit specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
• Patient population includes those with pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, and other lung diseases.
• Also care for medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, occasional stroke, and surgical patients.
• Unit includes an 8-bed respiratory step-down area with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Nurses have a 1:6 ratio on the main unit.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary team rounds.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Clinical, patient-facing role.
• EMR system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg / Telemetry within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• Position requires direct patient care.
• Not a remote position.
