Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel)

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
Number of Beds: 12
Patient Ratios: Standard ICU ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients (may vary with acuity)
Staffing: 1 dayshift secretary, primary RN staffing
Equipment: Standard critical care equipment plus Impella heart pump, Hemosphere advanced monitoring platform
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: Participative scheduling; minimum 3 weekend shifts per month; block scheduling not guaranteed
Floating: Must float to other units within the facility as needed (PCU/Medical Surgical)
Patient Experience: Nurses expected to explain care and medications, treat patients with courtesy and respect, and answer call lights timely

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification

Procedures Performed on Unit

Intubations
CRRT
Hemodynamic monitoring

Additional Information

Dress Code: Navy scrubs required
Unit Guidelines: Critical care staff respond to rapid responses and codes; travelers are subject to floating within the facility
Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
