Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel)
Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
- Number of Beds: 12
- Patient Ratios: Standard ICU ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients (may vary with acuity)
- Staffing: 1 dayshift secretary, primary RN staffing
- Equipment: Standard critical care equipment plus Impella heart pump, Hemosphere advanced monitoring platform
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Participative scheduling; minimum 3 weekend shifts per month; block scheduling not guaranteed
- Floating: Must float to other units within the facility as needed (PCU/Medical Surgical)
- Patient Experience: Nurses expected to explain care and medications, treat patients with courtesy and respect, and answer call lights timely
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Intubations
- CRRT
- Hemodynamic monitoring
Additional Information
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs required
- Unit Guidelines: Critical care staff respond to rapid responses and codes; travelers are subject to floating within the facility
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
