Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Frankfort, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work primarily on the Respiratory Therapy unit in a 174-bed acute care hospital with ED, ICU, and NICU services.
  • Night shift scheduling with a self-scheduling system on a 4-week rotation; every other weekend required.
  • Unit uses equipment such as Hamilton C-1 BiPAP, Airvo, and Avea ventilators.
  • Documentation system: Meditec.
  • NICU experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn NICU care is important.
  • Advanced skills required include performing arterial blood gases (ABGs).
  • New equipment available including brand new BiPAPs and Aerogen devices.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NBRC, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Additional Information

  • The hospital is a Level 3 Trauma Center with Stroke Center and Level 2 NICU certifications.
  • Staff tenure and experience are valued.
  • The unit does not have a floating policy.
  • Dress code: Any uniform color except royal blue.

This travel Respiratory Therapist position offers the opportunity to work in a well-equipped acute care hospital with a supportive team and flexible scheduling. Candidates should have at least 2 years of hospital RT experience, hold required certifications, and be licensed in Kentucky. NICU experience is beneficial but not required.
