Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Provide speech-language pathology services across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) and Home Health settings in multiple locations. Coverage includes Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney SNF, and Home Health 2-3 days per week at each location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer and perform therapeutic interventions with clients.
• Assess client needs and develop individualized therapy plans.
• Maintain client privacy, confidentiality, and self-esteem.
• Document observations and services provided.
• Communicate changes and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Train clients, family members, and staff on interventions and equipment.
• May supervise therapy assistants as allowed by regulations.
• Follow infection control and safety standards.
• Utilize appropriate therapy techniques and equipment.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday or flexible shifted schedules (Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday).
• Mileage and drive time between locations and patients in Home Health are compensated.

Productivity Expectations

• SNF: 82% productivity (includes evaluation, group, and concurrent time).
• Home Health: 90% productivity (includes drive time and documentation).

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Completion of an accredited speech/language pathology program preferred.
• Prior experience in rehabilitation or geriatrics preferred.

Licensure & Certification

• Certification for the state of practice required.
• BLS Certification required.

Skills & Abilities

• Basic speech/language pathology skills.
• Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Ability to operate, prepare, and inspect tools and equipment.
• Frequent communication and assessment of information.
• Ability to maintain stationary positions and move as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• May directly supervise assigned employees.
• Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance appraisal, and fostering employee engagement.
