Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Days, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
Unit: MedSurg - Orthopedics/Neuro/Pediatrics floor
Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of MedSurg experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Intermediate frequency monitoring (FM-Intermediate)
- IV Start proficiency
Important Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Education verification required for all candidates
- National sex offender and other federal/state checks as applicable
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 30 days of start; no PPD accepted
- Immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Flu vaccine required during flu season unless approved medical/religious exemption
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Additional:
- Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no selfies) required within 24 hours of signing
- Completion of facility-specific HealthStream training modules prior to start
- Skills checklist and references required
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training attestation or testing
Notes
- Minimal to no return to office (RTO) days expected; must be included on submission
- Fingerprinting requirements apply for CNAs only; RN candidates should confirm state-specific requirements
- Facility-specific forms and agreements may be required and are time sensitive
- Two recent supervisor/manager references required, verified within 12 months
- Performance evaluations may be required if previously worked with the facility system
This position offers an opportunity to work in a diverse MedSurg environment with orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric patients. Candidates should be prepared to meet all compliance and documentation requirements promptly to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
