Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have a Wisconsin respiratory therapist license in hand prior to start date.
• Current critical care experience required, or must have worked in critical care within the last 12 months.
• Ability to manage a heavy workload.
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed.
• Required certifications include EOW (End of Watch), EOH (End of Hire), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) is optional but preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (preferred)

Required Documentation & Compliance (must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

• Professional credentials including resume/profile and signed assignment agreement.
• License/certificate verification with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Two professional references.
• Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address on file).
• Background checks including criminal background, EPLS, and employment verification.
• Health and immunization records:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season)
  • TB testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA with annual TB questionnaire; if positive, chest X-ray required.
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite).
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Completion of core competencies and skills checklist relevant to respiratory therapy.
• Education verification relevant to clinical work.
• Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Floating to other sites within 40 miles may be necessary.
• Must be able to work every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
