Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse with Mother/Baby experience
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) on weekdays, every other weekend minimum
Option to flex to a 4th shift if needed/available; overtime after 48 hours
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
Locals accepted at the same rate
Travel experience preferred but not required

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery with Mother/Baby experience

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) via AHA
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Required Qualifications

Current, valid Registered Nurse license for North Carolina
Must provide proof of certifications and licensure (including NURSYS verification)
Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard screenings
Proof of immunizations and health documents as required (see Health Documents below)

Health and Compliance Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year, attesting ability to meet physical demands
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
Immunizations or titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1) or approved exemption

Additional Requirements

Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
Complete employment application/resume
Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
Facility-specific documents and compliance checklists to be completed prior to start
Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service

Notes

Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory
Candidates must bring hard copies of all health documents on the first day
Must comply with all background checks and credential verifications before start
