Registered Nurse - Surgery Pre Op

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre Op (Surgery)
Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM), one day off (not fixed)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Call Requirements: No call required for this position
Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
Patient Population: Diverse, all ages
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner

Unit Information

Department: Pre Op
Trauma Level: Level III trauma center
Facility Size: 198 beds
Typical Services: Medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology, pediatrics, inpatient behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
Environment: Located in a scenic area with outdoor recreational opportunities

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
Pre-Op nursing experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

Additional Notes

No float requirements
No weekend hours specified
Must have skills/experience in ACLS and BLS
Patient care involves a variety of diagnoses and treatments typical to a surgical preoperative unit
