Registered Nurse - Surgery Pre Op

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre Op (Surgery)
  • Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM), one day off (not fixed)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
  • Call Requirements: No call required for this position
  • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
  • Patient Population: Diverse, all ages
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner

Unit Information

  • Department: Pre Op
  • Trauma Level: Level III trauma center
  • Facility Size: 198 beds
  • Typical Services: Medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology, pediatrics, inpatient behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
  • Environment: Located in a scenic area with outdoor recreational opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
  • Pre-Op nursing experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

Additional Notes

  • No float requirements
  • No weekend hours specified
  • Must have skills/experience in ACLS and BLS
  • Patient care involves a variety of diagnoses and treatments typical to a surgical preoperative unit
