Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Start Dates: May 4 or May 18
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years recent experience in specialty (Emergency Room)
  • First-time Travelers: Not accepted unless candidate has 5+ years of experience in specialty
  • On-Call: As needed
  • Weekend Requirement: As needed
  • Block Schedule: Not open to block scheduling; weekend block may be considered and discussed during interview
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
  • Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Must be included at time of submission

Special Requirements

  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Must be willing to work 48-hour shifts
  • Experience in a large hospital preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
  • Level I Trauma experience

Additional Requirements

  • Two recent professional references required
  • Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
  • Various competency exams and annual updates as applicable
  • Photo badge with strict guidelines required prior to start
  • Compliance with facility-specific dress code (Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidery)
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations)

Notes

  • Candidates must be fully compliant with all licensure, certification, and health requirements prior to start
  • Large hospital and Level I trauma center experience is highly preferred
  • Weekend and on-call shifts are required as needed
  • No local candidates accepted due to strict radius policy
  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers must have 5+ years specialty experience

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses with trauma experience seeking a travel contract in a Level I trauma center environment.
