Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 to 26 weeks preferred (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift:
- 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
- May include occasional weekend coverage and floating
Job Description
- Start Date: ASAP
- Weekly Work Hours Guarantee: 36 hours
- Cancellation Notice: 14 days
- Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Requirements
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Speech-Language Pathology)
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience required; new graduates will be considered
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid state license for Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background checks including standard 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (updated annually)
- Competency exams as applicable (Medication Test/Pharmacology and general competency exam)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start date (with specific guidelines for past positives)
- Immunization or titer proof for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start date
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
- Professional references:
- 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
- 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
- Annual skills checklist
Additional Notes
- May require occasional weekend shifts and floating to other units as needed
- Cancellation notice period is 14 days
