Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit Type: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
Number of Beds: 430
Number of Staff: 25
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 3-4 staff
- Night Shift: 3 staff
Patient Load: Approximately 20-25 treatments per round
Equipment Used:
- Oxygen
- BIPAP/CPAP
- Ventilators
- Nebulizers
- Blood gas machines
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

Must have ICU experience
Typical procedures include:
- Nebulizer treatments
- BIPAP/CPAP management
- Ventilator management
- Arterial Blood Gases (ABG) analysis
Work Environment: Fast-paced setting
Call Schedule:
- Rotating weekends
- On-call approximately one 24-hour shift every 5-6 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
Current NBRC certification
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
ICU experience

Navy blue scrubs
