Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Description

• Work setting: Outpatient Surgery with 13 operating rooms
• Patient population: Infants to Geriatrics
• Call: No call required, but must provide coverage for cases that run late
• Floating: Yes, within OR departments
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Holidays: Required to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Electronic systems used: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color provided by facility
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days per contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Outpatient Surgery, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an Outpatient setting
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
  • Tdap (highly recommended)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
• Annual background check and education verification required
• Color blindness test required

• Orientation hours vary based on contract length
• Clinical screening required to determine fit before final approval
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Two clinical references required
• Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Floating within OR departments expected
• Must be able to work assigned holidays as outlined
• Full compliance with all documentation and credentialing required to start on time; delays may result in assignment pushback
