Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room

Location: Salem, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Number of OR Suites: 2
Staffing: 6 total (3 RNs, 3 CSTs)
Shift: Day shift only
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Typical Procedures:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Thoracotomy
- Endovascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair (Endo AAA)
- Valve Replacement
- Pacemaker Implantation

Requirements

Certifications and Licenses

Valid CVOR Technologist license in Virginia
Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Surgical Technologist Assessment or USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
CVOR Technologist experience within the last year

Skills

De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Additional Information

Floating Areas: Operating Room
Dress Code: Light blue scrubs (provided)
Call Requirements: Weekday, weekend, and holiday call required
