Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Day Shift)

Location: Rockford, Illinois

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care. This position involves day shift work with weekend and holiday rotations.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice laws.
Document patient care according to standards.
Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians or clinic policy, including patient and family education.
Participate in department/unit performance improvement activities and shared governance.
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately.
Engage in professional nursing development, unit practice activities, and peer review processes.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program (education verification required)

Schedule

Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation.
