Description
Job Opportunity: Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Call Requirements:
- Call every 6 weeks plus 1 night per week
- 4 to 10 hour days
Job Summary
Under physician supervision, operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment during cardiac and/or peripheral vascular procedures. Provide scrub assistance to cardiologists throughout diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Deliver appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- 2 years of Level 1 trauma experience, including working with Level 1 trauma patients
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (R) certification
- ARRT certification
- Radiology Technologist experience
Required Certifications and Documents
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Radiology Technologist license and ARRT certification
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search including SSN trace, county, statewide, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3)
- Drug screening (negative 10-panel within 1 year, SAMHSA certified lab)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including assessment of ability to perform essential job functions
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (annual updates required)
- Immunizations: Tdap (within 10 years), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer or vaccine series or signed declination)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available with documentation)
- Flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions available with documentation)
- Fit mask testing within past year (or completed onsite at orientation)
- Fingerprinting (BCI and FBI) within 12 months of start, with attestation
- Radiation badge required for Cath Lab Technologists (must be provided by agency or facility)
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (updated annually)
- References: Two positive professional references, including at least one from the most recent employer
- Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar area
Additional Information
- Blocked schedules (grouped shifts) are not allowed
- Must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment
- Call schedule includes every 6 weeks plus one night per week
- Criminal background checks must be updated for breaks in service of 2 or more months
- Fingerprinting results can take up to 30 days to process; must be completed ASAP
- Travelers can start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
- Radiation badges must be returned after contract ends; new candidates must obtain their own badge prior to start
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required; first-time travelers with 2-3 years trauma level 1 experience may be considered
