Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Roswell, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other week (EOW)
Unit: General Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) with some post-op ortho and general surgery patients
Patient Ratio: Typically 1:6, occasionally up to 1:7


Job Description

  • Start ASAP (within 4 weeks of submission)
  • Floating required as needed, but rarely; may occasionally float to ICU for Med Surg overflow or Step Down patients
  • Call required but rarely needed; no additional call beyond scheduled shifts
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated if days vary week to week
  • Scrubs color: Royal Blue
  • EMR systems used: Cerner, Mindray Telemetry System

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification required

Additional Information

  • Must be willing to float to other areas as appropriate
  • No intrinsic call requirements; call may be assigned based on census but only during scheduled shifts
  • Patient care includes general med surg, post-op ortho, and general surgery patients
