Job Description

• Position involves floating between units as needed.
• No on-call required.
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
• No block schedules.
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards:

  • Labor: 1:1
  • Postpartum: 1:6
• Must have Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Labor and Delivery/Postpartum (LDRP) required; 2 years preferred.
• Must have a vehicle for assignment.
• Floating to other units and facilities within reasonable distance may be required.
• Facility is a Critical Access/Level III Trauma Center with 25 staffed beds.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Scrubs provided for OR, Critical Care, ED, and Maternal Child units; other units allow any scrub color.
• Free parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Additional Information

• Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other nearby facilities.
• Travel experience: First-time travelers are welcome.
• Epic training required; transcripts must be completed and on file.
• WorkRamp modules and facility-specific training required annually.
• Must comply with all state-specific licensing and background check requirements.
• Must have reliable transportation for assignment.
• No 48-hour shifts approved.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Every other weekend required.
• Floating between units based on patient care needs.
• Critical Access hospital environment with a small bed count.
• Teaching hospital setting.

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of LDRP experience (2 years preferred) in Hood River, Oregon. The role requires flexibility to float between units and facilities, adherence to AWHONN patient ratios, and current certifications including NRP, BLS, ACLS, and PALS. The facility uses Epic for charting and offers a supportive teaching hospital environment. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be prepared for every other weekend shifts.
