Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology (Days)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a newly opened hematology/oncology outpatient clinic.
• Average patient volume: 12-15 patients per day.
• Collaborate with nurse practitioners and physicians.
• Required skills include phlebotomy, injections, port draws, and chemotherapy education.
• EMR system used: EPIC (Beacon experience strongly encouraged).
• Orientation dates available with priority given to earlier sessions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of oncology experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting (higher experience requirement overrides any lower stated values).
• Port competency experience required.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Skills checklist specific to oncology/clinic/chemotherapy discipline required.
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred.

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered only if they have at least 24 months of oncology experience.
• Work schedule includes 36-40 hours per week with overtime after 40 hours.
• Call back and on-call pay applies (details not included here).
• Employee separation policy restricts travel assignments within the same market if previously employed in certain capacities within the last 12 months.
