Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Surgical Services (Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician)
- Shift: Days (10-hour shifts)
- Call Requirement: 2-3 calls per week, including at least 1 weekend per month (24-hour coverage on Saturday and Sunday). Call frequency may increase depending on staff mix, potentially up to 10 weekdays per month.
- Work Days: Monday through Friday, off day varies, on-call required.
- Number of Operating Rooms: 12
- Types of Cases: Adults, Adolescents, Geriatrics – General and Neurosurgery; Cardiovascular cases preferred
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years (first-timers not accepted)
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- National Certification: NBSTSA strongly preferred
- BLS Certification: Required
- Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
- Block Schedule Accommodation: Yes
- Locals Accepted: Yes (same metropolitan area)
- Pending State License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Special Requirements: Scrub experience required
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital

- Parking: Free in South Parking Garage
- Facility Policy: Strict no-tobacco/nicotine policy (includes all forms such as vaping, gum, patches, etc.). Failure of nicotine/cotinine drug screen results in automatic cancellation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- NBSTSA certification

- First-time travelers: Not accepted for this position
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
- Nicotine Policy: Zero tolerance for nicotine use; candidates must be nicotine-free for at least 90 days prior to start
- Orientation: Safety manual acknowledgement required
