Cardiac Sonographer - Travel

Location: Austin, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel (Clinical Allied)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Perform complete echocardiographic studies using all cardiac echo imaging modalities to obtain pertinent patient data. Document patient data and echo exam information accurately using the Echo Information Management System and other computer applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Function independently using critical thinking and problem-solving to obtain comprehensive echocardiograms.
• Collaborate with cardiac sonographers, echocardiographers, physicians, and team members to assist in interpreting echocardiographic findings.
• Assist in orientation, training, and education of trainees, students, and visitors in Cardiovascular Services.
• Participate in stress lab and stress echo lab procedures, outreach, on-call duties, weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage as needed.
• Be available for 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time.
• Provide quality care across all patient age groups, from neonate to geriatric.
• Demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment, imaging specialties, and echocardiography procedures.
• Understand sterile procedures and isolation precautions; exercise proper safety measures to avoid exposure to radiation, infectious hazards, and sharp instruments.
• Demonstrate proficiency in required competencies.
• Physical requirements include frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder level, and occasional twisting and turning.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Possess good hearing and visual acuity.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working with adult and pediatric patients.
• Pediatric echocardiography experience.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Associate’s degree.
