Physical Therapist - San Luis Obispo, CA
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Location: San Luis Obispo, California

Job Summary
The Physical Therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength in an outpatient/rehabilitation clinic setting.
Work Schedule
- 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, or possible 4x10-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries
- Guide and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides in patient care
- Communicate with physicians and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow-up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking safety
- Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed
- Follow HIPAA policies and procedures to protect patient privacy
- Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations
- Be physically mobile during work hours, including sitting, walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Physical Demands
- Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, and lifting
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds and assist patients with mobility restraints and transfers
- Constant alertness for patient safety
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in California
- Degree in Physical Therapy
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
Preferred Qualifications
- Continuing education courses in Physical Therapy
Travel Requirements
- No travel expected
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care
Additional Notes
- Must adhere to patient privacy policies and participate in privacy training
- Responsible for accurate documentation and communication related to patient care and billing processes
