Description

Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Owings Mills, Maryland
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care for geriatric patients in a home care setting.
  • Work hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Expected productivity: 30 points per week.
  • Expected daily visit volume: approximately 6 visits per day.
  • Weekend work may be required occasionally, but generally Monday through Friday.
  • On-call availability may be requested.
  • Local candidates are acceptable.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Home Health experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience in a Home Care setting.
  • Proficient with OASIS documentation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense).
  • May require ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC as applicable.
  • N95 Fit Test within 1 year, updated annually.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.

Background & Documentation Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check including all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
  • Employment eligibility verification (E-Verify).
  • Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID).
  • Proof of auto insurance.
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months.
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 1 year of start.
  • Professional references within 2 years (2 references required for travel positions).
  • Completion of skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates may be required to sign facility-specific forms related to HIPAA and COVID-19 exemptions.
  • Performance evaluations may be required if previously employed with the agency.
  • Candidates must carry photo ID during hours of service.

This position is ideal for experienced home care RNs comfortable with geriatric patient populations and documentation requirements in a travel/contract role.
