Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details

- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Neuro ICU preferred
- Travel Experience: Unit does not accept first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Neuro ICU experience with at least 2 years, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I-9 verification
- Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify
- 7-year background check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
- Education verification (highest level)
- Physical exam within 12 months
- Fit mask test within 1 year (annual renewal required)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
Additional Notes
- This position requires working night shifts exclusively.
- Candidates residing in certain counties in Texas are not eligible for this assignment.
- Annual unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams required.
- Fingerprinting and additional background checks may be required depending on location.
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required.
This role is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment on night shifts in Texas.
