    Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

    Location: Sacramento, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Position involves both inpatient and outpatient care.
    • Rotating weekends once a month (Saturday & Sunday).
    • Potential need for call shifts from 7:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
    • Preference for experience with both adult and pediatric patients.

    Required Certifications & Licenses

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • RDCS AE (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Adult Echocardiography) required
    • ARDMS PE (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Pediatric Echocardiography) preferred

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist, with experience within the last year.
    • Current BLS certification.
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification.

    Work Schedule

    • Rotating weekends once per month
    • Possible call shifts during night hours (1900-0630)

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including alias and county searches.
    • Various federal and state screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List) required and must be updated annually or as specified.
    • Education verification required, including official transcripts/diplomas if verification attempts are unsuccessful.
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law).
    • Physical exam required within 1 year of start, including clearance for work and any necessary accommodations.
    • Fit mask test required within 1 year of start and must be renewed annually (with exceptions).
    • Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination during flu season. Religious and medical exemptions considered with proper documentation.
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray required within 90 days of start, with annual renewal.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and annually thereafter.

    Additional Requirements

    • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be renewed annually.
    • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps.
    • Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
    • References: 2 professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates; 1 for per diem non-acute care.

    Notes

    • Candidate must review and sign various facility-specific documents prior to start, including standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation.
    • Religious accommodation forms available for exemptions related to vaccines and facial hair for mask fitting.
    • Some certifications and competencies may be required depending on position specifics; verify with recruiter or manager.
