Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical; Neuro Acute Care
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed (may be cancelled up to 3 times per contract)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: May float to other acute care units within a 25-mile radius
- Number of Openings: 1

- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Equipment: General hospital equipment for acute care
- EMR System: Cerner
- Patient Population: General Medicine
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification

- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; fingernails must comply with TJC and CMS guidelines; shoes must be closed-toed with backs
Additional Notes
- This position involves working in an acute care setting with a focus on neurological and medical-surgical patients.
- The role requires strong clinical skills in stroke care and related assessments.
- Floating to other units within the acute care division is expected.
No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
