Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, quality, and effectiveness in clinical practice and work habits. Treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect and consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS Certification issued by the American Heart Association or ENPC issued by the American Heart Association
- TNCC or ATCN certification
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
- Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment
- Subject to stressful professional relationships
- Flexible working hours with potential for unexpected schedule changes and emergencies
- Physical demands include prolonged standing and walking, heavy lifting and transferring of patients/equipment, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Requires good visual and hearing acuity, manual dexterity, and fine motor coordination
Additional Information
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On Call: Voluntary
- Floating: Yes, may assist in other locations during low census
This position requires a dedicated RN with emergency department experience, night shift availability, and the necessary certifications to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.
