Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Variable Day Shift with Call)

Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to plan and implement patient and family education, assess patient needs, and initiate appropriate interventions.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Montana
  • Minimum 1.5 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
  • 1 year circulating experience
  • 1 year scrub experience

  • Collect comprehensive patient health data (Assessment)
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
  • Identify expected outcomes and develop individualized care plans
  • Implement and evaluate the plan of care
  • Promote health and a safe environment
  • Enhance quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
  • Maintain current nursing knowledge and competency
  • Evaluate own nursing practice against professional standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into practice
  • Provide leadership within the professional practice setting

Stroke Competency

  • Comply with policies and protocols related to hyperacute and acute stroke care
  • Complete two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire
  • Participate in one hour of annual cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education

Additional Information

  • Variable day shift positions with call; flexibility to cover all shifts is required
  • Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
  • Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered

Prior Travel Experience

  • Prior travel experience is required for this position.
