Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Job Description

• Provide imaging support in the Operating Room during vascular interventional radiology procedures.
• Work schedule: 10-hour days, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Rotating on-call every 4th week.
• Must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia.
• Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, with experience within the last year.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.

Experience

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology.
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume entry-level to mid-level technologist experience appropriate for vascular IR support.

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• BLS and ARRT certifications mandatory.
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit or procedure specifics (e.g., ACLS, if applicable).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard healthcare compliance screenings.
• Drug screening (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl) required within 2 months of start and updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required, including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or follow-up antigen titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions accepted)
• Physical exam within 12 months attesting ability to meet job demands.
• Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged.
• Fit testing for patient-facing roles will be completed onsite if required.

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting may be required depending on unit assignment.
• Pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment and other competency exams may be required during orientation depending on unit.
• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.
• References and clinical evaluations may be required for credentialing.
