Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers and confirm correct exam orders.
• Follow confidentiality policies and demonstrate age-specific patient care.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, duration, and expectations to reduce anxiety.
• Select appropriate technical factors and position patients properly during mammography procedures.
• Ensure high-quality images are obtained and properly documented according to standards.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of imaging equipment and maintain attentiveness during procedures.
• Complete all mammography exams independently after orientation, including screening, diagnostic, stereotactic biopsy, and Bone Density (DXA) exams.
• Maintain required documentation and comply with accrediting body standards specific to mammography technologists.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in South Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• South Carolina Radiologic Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) certification
• Certified Biomedical Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification
