Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; 36-48 hour contracts acceptable


Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Telemetry specialty to provide patient care in a telemetry unit setting. This role requires adherence to clinical competencies and completion of required certifications and onboarding processes.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Professional credentials including a current resume/profile and at least two professional references.
  • Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation.
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with a minimum passing score of 80%.
  • Passing score (minimum 80%) on the Telemetry EKG exam, updated every 3 years.
  • Completion of unit-specific checklists and Cerner test-out assessments.
  • Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background.
  • Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding modules.
  • Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
  • Employment verification for the past seven years.
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings updated annually.
  • EPLS check within 90 days of start.
  • Annual skills checklist for clinical specialty.
  • Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
  • Health and immunization requirements including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine (optional; exemptions accepted with mask requirement during flu season)
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire
    • Fit test for respiratory protection, updated annually
    • Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Additional Notes

  • Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file.
  • Assignments require compliance with all listed credentialing and health requirements prior to start.
  • Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
  • Weekend availability every other weekend is required.
