Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Description
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (Pediatrics), you will be expected to be proficient in:
Medicated Aerosol Therapy:
Small volume nebulizers, breath actuated nebulizers, vibrating mesh nebulizers, patient education for aerosol, MDI, DPI therapy, pentamidine administration, medication carts, bar coding medication administration.Airway Clearance Therapy:
Clapping, vibration, directed cough, positive expiratory pressure (PEP), oscillatory PEP, hyperinflation therapy (IS, EZPAP), high frequency chest wall oscillation, intermittent percussive ventilation (IPV), acoustic airway clearance, cough assist.Airway Management:
Suctioning, tracheostomy care, manual ventilation, ventilator system checks, CPAP/BiPAP/NIMV, negative pressure ventilation, initiation and management of NAVA.High Risk Delivery:
Surfactant administration, neonatal resuscitation protocol (NRP), T-piece ventilation, intubation.Blood Gas Sampling:
Blood gas analysis and interpretation.Humidity Therapy:
Heated humidity via aerosol mask, trach collar, T-piece, face shield, HME.Clinical Practice Guidelines:
Asthma care path, cystic fibrosis care, respiratory distress syndrome management and bronchopulmonary dysplasia prevention, acute chest syndrome care path, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) protocol, respiratory care consult service, nitric oxide protocol.Monitoring:
Pulse oximetry, peak flow meters, capnography, ventilator graphic interpretation, overnight or continuous pulse oximetry and capnography studies, spontaneous breathing trial, transcutaneous CO2 monitoring.Transport:
HFNC portable unit, T-piece ventilation, MRI transport, internal transport with assisted ventilation, neonatal rapid response team, nitric oxide transport.Oxygen and Special Gas Therapy:
Nasal cannula, oxygen masks, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, blenders, analyzers, inhaled nitric oxide calibration and troubleshooting, sub-ambient oxygen, Heliox therapy.Cleaning and Equipment Maintenance

- Approximately 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- NBRC certification
