Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with PCU specialty for a long-term assignment in Wichita, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a progressive care setting.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kansas
  • Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete and submit the following prior to or at onboarding:

  • Professional Credentials:
    • Resume/Profile
    • Two professional references
    • Signed assignment agreement (offer letter, confirmation, extension)
    • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment start
    • Employment verification for the past seven years
    • Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
    • Driver’s License/State ID (valid, matching address requirements)
  • Certifications & Training:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
    • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
  • Health & Safety:
    • Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
    • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score
    • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of 80%, updated every 3 years)
    • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
    • Fit Test (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually)
    • Immunizations and Health History:
      • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
      • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or history verified by provider; no declinations accepted)
      • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
      • Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
      • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
      • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with required follow-up documentation
    • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Additional Onboarding:
    • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
    • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
    • Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
    • Ascension Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist
    • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
    • Ascension Employment Protection List Screening (EPLS) within 90 days of start
    • Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
