Job Opportunity: RN Circulator for the OR
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Specialty: RN Surgery (Operating Room Circulator)
Job Description
- Minimum of 3 years recent full-time experience as an OR RN circulator in a high-volume hospital setting required.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in orthopedic procedures.
- Candidates with less experience or requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered.
- Must provide verifiable professional references.
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment and "hit the ground running."
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift (8 hours), with call coverage required for the main OR after normal business hours and on weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Orthopedics experience
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Candidates must complete and maintain the following prior to and during assignment:
- Professional resume/profile submission.
- Current nursing license verification (primary source verification within 30 days prior to start).
- Background checks including criminal history and employment verification.
- Specialty competency exam with a minimum passing score (updated every 3 years).
- Core competencies training (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with required passing scores.
- Health and immunization documentation including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Tdap vaccine (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (optional, with mask requirement if declined during flu season)
- Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest x-ray if positive)
- Fit testing for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start)
- Drug screening (12-panel, within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter)
- Completion of onboarding education attestations and training modules.
- Driver’s license or state ID (valid and matching address requirements).
Additional Information
- Candidates must be able to provide all required documentation and complete onboarding requirements timely.
- Must be prepared for a fast-paced surgical environment with orthopedic focus.
- Call coverage includes after-hours and weekend responsibilities.
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong orthopedic surgical skills seeking a long-term assignment in a dynamic hospital setting.
