Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in a 43-bed medical unit with a Trauma Level II designation.
  • Provide care for adult patients (18 years and older) with common diagnoses including cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, and congestive heart failure (CHF).
  • Patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6.
  • Equipment used includes vital signs machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging devices, lifts, and tube feeding pumps.
  • Electronic Health Record system: Cerner.
  • Shift: Nights, 7 PM to 7 AM.
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 hours.
  • Weekend hours: Staff are recommended to work at least 2 weekend shifts per month.
  • Float requirements as needed by the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
  • Minimum 1 year of overall RN nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

  • Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must have at least a 3.2 overall rating on the skills checklist.
  • Call requirements: None.
  • Patient population primarily adults with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

  • Located in the San Juan River Valley, northwest New Mexico.
  • Area offers outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and sightseeing with access to multiple national parks and recreational areas.
  • Approximately 1 hour drive to Durango, CO, and 3 hours to Albuquerque, NM.
