MRI Technologist - New Hampshire, Berlin
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The MRI Technologist is responsible for patient safety and performing high-quality MRI studies using Phillips equipment. The role includes effective communication with radiologists and customers, and may involve training new technologists or patient coordinators.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate MRI imaging and related equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, including advanced studies.
- Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address concerns with tact and courtesy.
- Ensure patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists and customers.
- Train new technologists and patient coordinators; provide guidance and quality checks.
- Troubleshoot MRI scanner and peripheral equipment to prevent downtime; escalate complex issues as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- ARRT (MR) certification required.
- BLS CPR Certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Valid state MRI license for New Hampshire required.
- Minimum of 1 year MRI experience in high-volume environments preferred.
- Proficiency in running advanced MRI studies independently.
- Ability to work independently and manage customer interactions effectively.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to explain complex medical procedures clearly.
- Local travel may be required.
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Candidate must be able to work as a 1099 contractor.
- Time off requirements during the assignment should be disclosed upfront.
