Registered Nurse (Med-Surg/ER) - Sibley, Iowa

Job Details

Specialty: Med-Surg/ER
Location: Sibley, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day/Night rotation
Hours: 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM), approximately 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun)
Holiday Rotation: Required, rotated with permanent staff based on weekend schedule

Work Environment

Unit size: Up to 12 beds, average census 3-6 patients (may rise to 10 due to COVID)
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 with team nursing (floor nurse and charge nurse collaborate)
Patient acuity: Typically 1-2 patients requiring more intensive care; higher volume of swing bed patients
EMR system: MediTech
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; fleece not permitted, but similar outer shells (e.g., North Face jacket) allowed

Required Certifications & Qualifications

Current RN license
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG strips

Additional Information

Holiday and weekend rotations are mandatory as part of the schedule
Team nursing approach emphasizes collaboration between floor and charge nurses

This position is suitable for experienced Med-Surg/ER registered nurses comfortable with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday coverage.
