Physical Therapist Travel Job - Texas, Canton
Job Summary
The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and implementing physical therapy care for assigned patients. This role requires adherence to all standards of the Physical Therapy Practice Act and involves providing technical therapy care, supplies, equipment, and interventions to a designated patient population.
Work Setting
- Outpatient position
- Patient types: mainly orthopedic and some neurological
- Patient ratio: 1:1 (one patient every 45 minutes)
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Close early on Fridays with the option to make up the hour Monday through Thursday
Responsibilities
- Gather pertinent data from charts and other caregivers; communicate with physicians as necessary
- Independently assess all assigned patient types
- Recognize additional patient needs during evaluation and exercise good judgment in requesting, scheduling, or performing additional testing
- Interpret results and formulate relevant, measurable, realistic, and attainable goals
- Reassess patient progress regularly according to department and regulatory policies or as needed
- Identify appropriate equipment, discuss with patient and family, and make recommendations
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
