Description
Job Opportunity: Nuclear Med Tech
Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
As a Nuclear Med Tech, you will provide high-quality Nuclear Medicine data to interpreting physicians in accordance with departmental procedures and applicable state and federal regulations. You will work with patients across all age groups including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, addressing their physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
Work Schedule
- 4x10 hour shifts (06:30 AM – 5:00 PM), rotating days of the week
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- No call required under normal circumstances; call participation only during short staffing at supervisor’s discretion
- May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Nevada (NV State License)
- Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Job Responsibilities
- Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures using state-of-the-art scintillation cameras and support equipment
- Communicate effectively with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient scheduling, preparation, and exam requirements
- Occasionally order radiopharmaceuticals and coordinate equipment repairs in the absence of a supervisor
- Provide patient care and perform minor clerical duties as needed
- May be required to float to other areas within competency level based on organizational needs
Work Environment
- Extremely busy and fast-paced setting serving a large regional population
- Level 2 trauma center with high patient volume and acuity
- Exposure to a wide range of patient conditions and advanced medical technologies
Additional Notes
- The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census during the 13-week contract
- This position requires adaptability to variable schedules and occasional overtime
