Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights (1800-0630)
- Patient Ratio: 1:12-16
- Weekend Shifts: 3 per 4-week schedule
- Scrubs: Any color allowed
- Return to Office (RTO) Limit: 2 requests per contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience working with patient ratios of 1:12-16
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Background checks including:
- National Criminal Check
- State and County Searches (10 years, all aliases)
- Social Security Number Trace
- National Sex Offender Registry
- Federal Exclusion Lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Education verification with official transcript or diploma including graduation date
- Missouri-specific EDL Search within 30 days of start
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
- Fit testing completed onsite
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, with additional requirements if positive
- Immunizations or proof of immunity/declination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (not required annually)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with a passing score of 84% or higher (2 attempts allowed; ICU only 1 attempt)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual
- Pass/fail testing related to EKG and medication as applicable
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete and sign confidentiality and code of conduct agreements
- Required to complete demographic and orientation quizzes prior to start
- Onsite AVADE training may be required if contract is extended beyond initial period (specific to certain units)
- Two professional references within 3 years of start required
- Verification of most recent employment and skills checklist required
This position offers a night shift travel opportunity for experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists with a minimum of one year of experience. First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply.
