Registered Nurse (Med Surg - Adult Medical/Pediatrics)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on Adult Medical and Adult Surgical units (floats between 2N and 3N units).
• Perform medical-surgical nursing duties including:

  • Scanning and administering all types of medication
  • Monitoring vital signs and performing head-to-toe assessments
  • Starting and managing IVs, blood administration, and point-of-care testing (POCs)
  • Managing isolation precautions
• Utilize equipment such as telemetry monitors, vein viewers, bladder scanners, and Meditech charting system.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:5, supported by LPNs and CNAs for vital signs, POCs, and daily living assistance.
• Dress code requires neat, clean scrubs (any color except blue jean material), closed-toe and heeled shoes, earrings only (no other piercings), and hair pulled back.
• Orientation is unit-based, hands-on with a preceptor.

Shift & Hours

• 12-hour day shifts
• Approximately 34 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing
• Current Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not mandatory
• At least 6 months of previous travel nursing experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric experience preferred but not required for this assignment

Additional Information

• Candidate must be able to float between adult medical and surgical units.
• Time off requests during the assignment should be communicated in advance.
