Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Laguna Hills, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (AM shifts with variable start times between 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Occasional Saturday shifts (about 4-5 hours)
• Floating: Not required
• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Documentation Systems: EPIC, Magview

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
• Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience with EPIC documentation system

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid state license for Mammography Tech
• BLS certification (AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable)
• ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be required depending on qualification (refer to specific job details)
• Tech Certification Verification (national) as applicable
• Documentation of passing required competency exams (medication, EKG/dysrhythmia if applicable)
• Color Blind Testing (annual update)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• N95 Fit Mask test within 1 year (annual renewal required)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (declination acceptable if low/equivocal)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination acceptable if low/equivocal)
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel due to state restrictions)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (declination accepted)
• COVID vaccination record preferred

Documentation & Onboarding

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Emergency contact form required
• Background check (7-year search including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender) within 1 year
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Photo for badge required
• Completion of facility-specific policies (drug and alcohol, hand hygiene, dress and appearance)
• Completion of EPIC education modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
• Completion of YouLearn modules as assigned by facility
• HIPAA education module completion required before EPIC modules
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation required annually
• Two professional references required
• Employment application required

Additional Information

• Pre-approved time off must be requested at time of submission and approved by management
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility may be eligible for local rate consideration
• Facility uses EPIC and Magview for documentation
• Occasional Saturday shifts required (4-5 hours)

This position is ideal for Mammography Technologists with at least 1 year of experience who are comfortable working variable AM shifts and occasional weekends, and who meet the certification and health requirements listed above. First-time travel healthcare workers are welcome to apply.
