Mammography Tech-Diagnostic

Location: Rancho Mirage, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Shift: 5x8's (Five days a week, 8-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 14 weeks (96 days ≈ 14 weeks)

Job Description

• Perform quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams and dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEA) exams.
• Educate patients about exams, explain procedures and equipment, and answer questions to reduce patient anxiety.
• Escort patients from waiting areas to procedure rooms.
• Obtain appropriate patient and family medical history before procedures.
• Explain comparative film reviews and obtain patient film release signatures as needed.
• Complete all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
• Perform bone density screenings as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of radiology equipment and rooms.
• Maintain job knowledge in compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirements.
• Follow department timekeeping procedures.
• Work at both main campus and satellite facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Valid license or certification as a Mammography Technologist per state regulations.
• Proficient in the use of mammography and DEA equipment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
