Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
Work Type: Full Time
Job Summary
- Provide independent and proficient nursing care to patients and their families by applying the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with staff, physicians, and management to address nursing issues and interpret hospital policies to meet patient needs.
- Maintain clinical competency and continue learning new skills to ensure safe, direct patient care.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership competencies appropriate to role (self, others, or leaders).
- Promote positive public relations and present professionally.
- Problem-solve patient and family issues to positive outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with diverse age groups and cultures, maintaining a positive attitude.
- Foster good relationships with coworkers, other departments, and physicians without causing disruptions.
- Practice the five rights of medication administration.
- Manage time efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Encourage teamwork and seek assistance when needed.
- Support the mission and philosophy of the hospital and nursing department.
- Act as a patient advocate, including family involvement, while respecting confidentiality.
- Respect patients’ cultural and religious beliefs and manage end-of-life decisions appropriately.
- Be reliable in attendance and accountable for actions and decisions.
- Use the chain of command properly to resolve issues.
- Participate in hospital and departmental quality and legal compliance activities.
- Adhere to customer service standards and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Ability to speak additional languages is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Verbal Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
Additional Information
- Must be able to work assigned shifts reliably.
- Orientation, annual competencies, and legal compliance training required.
