Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor & Delivery)
Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Shift: See shift details (not specified)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: Labor & Delivery (4 labor rooms, 4 postpartum rooms)
- Patient Ratios:
- Labor/Delivery/Postpartum: 2:1 or 1:1 in LDRP
- Postpartum: 3 couplets to 1 nurse
- Patient Population: Childbearing-aged women and newborns
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): OBIX, Medhost, GUI
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) and Postpartum care
- Certifications (must have at submission):
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
- Healthy Workplaces Certification (HWC)
Job Responsibilities & Expectations
- Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
- Float to other units as needed
- Maintain patient-focused care with teamwork and eagerness to learn
- Adhere to dress code: scrubs required, no casual wear
Additional Notes
- Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
- Facility is a 47-bed acute care center with approximately 300 healthcare employees
- No trauma level designation for this unit
- Patient care involves common diagnoses and treatments related to Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care
