Occupational Therapist - Home Health (California)
Location: San Ramon, CA
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Job Description
- Open to new graduates.
- Home health experience preferred but not required.
- Assigned territory includes multiple areas in the East Bay region (Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Fremont, Castro Valley, and surrounding cities).
- Two scheduling options:
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 36 hours per week with a productivity requirement of at least 27 points per week (points correspond to visit types and hours). Must be willing to travel outside the area or work weekends if needed to meet visit expectations. Guarantee does not apply during the first and last week of assignment, holidays, or approved time off. Refusing patients voids the guarantee.
- Non-Guaranteed Hours: No guaranteed hours; weekend coverage and travel outside the service area may be required to maintain a full caseload. Can refuse patients.
- Must be willing to see COVID-positive and COVID-PUI patients.
- Payment is made on a per-visit basis, with visits converted to points and hours for approval purposes.
- Approved hours cover drive/travel time, visit time, documentation, and communication with patients and doctors.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and vehicle registration
- Up-to-date immunizations and screenings including:
- TB (annual)
- MMR
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
- Tdap (within 10 years)
- Annual flu vaccine
- Drug screen
- Physical exam
Additional Information
- Agencies must ensure contract dates and requested time off are disclosed and match exactly with the client’s requirements to avoid removal from the vendor list.
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; late requests will not be approved.
