    Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

    Location: Eureka, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
    Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
    Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
    Total Staffed Beds: 150
    Charting System: Epic
    Parking: Free parking on first day; assigned parking after orientation


    Job Details

    • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
    • Required Years of Experience: 1 year
    • First-time travelers accepted
    • Locals accepted
    • Pending license not accepted
    • Floating between similar units required
    • Block scheduling available at manager discretion
    • Guaranteed hours with possible call-off once per two-week pay period

    Required Certifications and Licenses

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - Therapeutic
    • Current state professional license for Radiation Therapists (including CPDH Certificate for CA)

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty
    • Must have current, valid Radiation Therapist license for California
    • Ability to float between like units as needed
    • Physical ability to work day shift hours
    • Must comply with facility and state-specific background checks and credentialing requirements

    Compliance and Documentation Requirements

    • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Drug Screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and Health Screenings:
      • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
      • COVID-19 vaccine or declination
    • Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, updated annually
    • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
    • Employment Application covering at least last 5 years of employment

    Training and Competency Requirements

    • Completion of facility-specific and regional mandatory training modules annually via LMS platform
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Color Blind Testing if required by unit
    • Skills Checklist updated annually as applicable
    • Radiation Badge issued by facility (facility responsibility)

    Additional Notes

    • Float Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
    • Epic system training and access required
    • Must comply with state-specific searches and registry requirements as applicable
    • Physical and health documentation must be current and uploaded prior to start
    • Free parking on first day; assigned parking provided during orientation

    This position is suitable for Radiation Therapists with at least 1 year of experience who are flexible with floating between units and able to work day shifts in an acute care hospital setting. First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply.
