Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry (Travel)

Job Description

Provide nursing care in a medical-surgical telemetry unit within a Level II trauma center. The unit has 43 beds with patient ratios of 1:5 and 1:6. The patient population includes adults (18 years and older) with common diagnoses such as cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, and congestive heart failure (CHF).

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: At least 2 weekend shifts per month recommended
• Call Requirements: None

Unit & Equipment

• Unit Type: Medical Unit (Med Surg Telemetry)
• Equipment Used: Vital signs machine, bladder scanner, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, tube feeding pumps
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Requirements

• Must have at least a 3.2 overall rating on the skills checklist
• Submittal Requirements: Resume, submission form, area-specific competency exam, skills checklist, and screening questions
