Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Contract Length

Work Schedule

• Day shift: 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• On-call required 8 days per month
• Weekend work required at minimum every other weekend, likely more
• Variable shifts scheduled as needed (not rotating)
• Call schedule: 4x10s with call required 8 days per month
• May be required to float to a nearby facility within 50 miles

Specialty

• Radiology / Cardiology (Cath Lab)
• Strong preference for Electrophysiology (EP) experience
• Preference for candidates with panning and circulating experience in EP and heart caths

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
• First-time travelers NOT accepted

Required Certifications and Licenses

• ARRT certification required (RCIS not accepted)
• Fluoroscopy certification required
• California state license required
• BLS certification required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT certification
• Fluoroscopy permit required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• On-call availability as specified
• Weekend availability as specified

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use
• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps

Training and Competencies

• Completion of facility-specific and regional mandatory training modules annually via LMS platform
• Epic electronic health record training modules required for SoCal region
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Color blindness testing if required by unit
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

• Local radius for assignment is 50 miles
• Floating to other units or nearby facilities may be required
