Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Hospice
Location: Lawrenceville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
- Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
- Conduct home visits with an average caseload of 5-8 patients per day.
- Types of visits include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
- Must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, and required liability insurance.
- Expected to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic, averaging 300-400 miles per week.
- Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekend rotations and on-call duties approximately every 3 weeks.
- Use of electronic medical records system HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and proficiency in OASIS required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Minimum of 1 year of hospice experience within the last year.
- Home Health experience.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB).
- Experience with OASIS documentation.
Additional Details
- Dress code: Scrubs.
- Caseload productivity expectations: 20-25+ cases or 25-30 weekly units.
- Weekend and on-call requirements vary; discuss during interview.
- Local candidates accepted under the same terms.
- Contract is in anticipation of a Clinical Manager’s maternity leave (6 weeks).
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and personal/auto insurance required.
- Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender search, and state-specific screenings.
- Drug screening (10-panel) required.
- Health documents including physical exam (within 12 months), negative TB test or chest X-ray, immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and COVID vaccination or declination.
- Education verification and work history verification (at least 2 most recent employers or 7 years).
- Completion of agency-specific compliance training, confidentiality agreements, HIPAA and privacy policies, and other required policy acknowledgments.
- Must complete hospice-specific policy quizzes and scenario reviews prior to start.
Travel Experience
